ABSTRACT
In Nigeria’s South-Western states of Ekiti and Ondo, gender disparities undermine economic development, social justice, and societal progress. This paper analyses the role of radio as a key tool for promoting gender equality and justice-development through community engagement, education, and advocacy. By examining selected community radio programmemes and documented case studies, it explores how radio fosters transformative change, empowers marginalized voices, and bridges information gaps. Findings highlight radio’s potential to reduce gender-based violence (GBV) and enhance women’s agency, offering insights for media-driven advocacy in low-resource contexts globally.
